Phalaenopsis cornu-cervi 'Wilson'
Mericlone
Charming, easy to grow, species from throughout lowland S.E. Asia. From our research ‘chattalade’ refers to the solid red form of the species. We have found that brighter light and cooler temperatures enhance the intensity of the red color. These are sequential bloomers that will produce flowers from late Spring though Fall on mature plants. Spikes may persist for one or more years so do not cut them unless they turn brown.
These are young, flowering size plants in 3” pots (indeed most of them are already in spike/flower). Photo #1 shows a close up of the flower of this variety. Photo #2 shows an example of the size plants offered for sale.
We grow these in our “Phalaenopsis House” under low filtered light (800-1,200 foot-candles), and are watered just as the media starts to dry (keep media moist).
